\nAlmost 10 years ago, MicroProse<\/strong> released a real-time strategy game called Majesty<\/strong>. The PC version was released in February, 2000. I bought the Mac version of this game (released in November, 2000) that was packed in a blue box and really liked it. As I recall, there were 11 single-player campaigns or so. I don’t remember any more what the game play was like. The only thing that I remember is the very last campaign where I built a lot of wizard towers to defend the castle. It was quite a tough one. I wanted to play this game more. Unfortunately, there was no expansion pack (Majesty: The Northern Expansion<\/strong>) available for the Mac version. So I bought the PC version of the blue box and the expansion pack. And I had to finish all campaigns over again before playing the expansion pack. Well… The thrill was gone by the time I got to the red box (the expansion pack). And I abandoned the game without even finishing the very first campaign.<\/p>\n

Talking about a different game, Paradox Interactive<\/strong> released a game called Majesty 2: The Fantasy Kingdom Sim<\/strong> on September 18, 2009. It’s nothing like the blue box except that the narrator talks by saying ‘Your majesty, …’ Huh! Just like the old time… This new game has got nice graphics like Microsoft Game Studios<\/strong>‘ Age of Empires III<\/strong>.

\nOkay… So is Majesty 2: The Fantasy Kingdom Sim a fun game to play? I can tell you that Majesty 2 can bore you till you finish several campaigns. While many campaigns are boring, it is also true that there are quite nice, fun-playing campaigns like The Gold of Chyort<\/strong>, Pretenders to the Throne<\/strong> and The Demon’s Advisor<\/strong>. In the meantime, if you haven’t grabbed a copy and are interested in buying this game, I have to warn you that Majesty 2 has a very bad bug which makes your computer to freeze when you try to load a saved game play. It’s so annoying and happens so frequently that you feel like just abandoning the game.   <\/p>\n

Anyway, we are running a game play series for Majesty 2: The Fantasy Kingdom Sim that consists of at least 4 movies. This QuickTime video shows an entire game play from a campaign called The Baron’s Bill<\/strong>. Its difficulty level is set to Advanced. But I can tell you that it’s quite easy to defeat. And the game play video may not be so fun to watch.
