As for Download.com, they will give you an automated message saying that the software file you&#8217;ve specified cannot be found if it&#8217;s invalid.  MacUpdate won&#8217;t, and they will simply trash your software submission.  We try to make sure that every software submission we make has a valid URL.  But we do make a mistake from time to time in this regard.<\/p>\n<p><strong>VersionsX<\/strong> is a new Mac application that is designed to let software developers document software version history.  If you use VersionsX, the probability that you will give them an invalid file path should be reduced dramatically because it will check and see if the given URL is valid for every 1.5 seconds in real time.<br \/>\n<br \/><\/br><br \/>\n<br \/><\/br><\/p>\n<table width=\"440\" border=\"0\" cellspacing=\"0\" cellpadding=\"0\">\n<tr>\n<td width=\"440\" valign=\"top\"><a href=\"mac\/mac_shareware\/versionsx\/versionsx_1000b.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"mac\/mac_shareware\/versionsx\/versionsx_1000b.jpg\" width=\"440\" height=\"330\" alt=\"Mac software VersionsX\" \/><\/a><\/a><br \/>\nSource: MacHouse<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/table>\n<p><\/br><br \/>\n<br \/><\/br><br \/>\nVersionX is currently available as a freeware title because it&#8217;s still in beta.
