We both agreed that we wanted to live somewhere warm and not very crowded. And she made a suggestion that I create a 2nd Earth with Photoshop. (Reference – Adobe Photoshop Creative Design #10: Designing a 2nd Earth).

I thought I did a good job in designing our future planet. I couldn’t wait to see my wife’s happy face. But I saw instead was her angry face. Then she said,

“Honey, how come this Earth is not rotating?”

A demanding wife can drive her husband crazy like hell. Bue she has a point, too. So how do I do it? I know that one way of rotating this image is to make a slideshow with QuickTime Pro. Acutally, you can use Photoshop (more precisely ImageReady) to create and export an animation in QuickTime and SWF.

This video tutorial shows how to use Photoshop’s ImageReady to create an animation. We start with two layers, Earth and deep space images. After rotating some duplicated Earth layers, we import them to ImageReady.

The version of Adobe Photoshop used in the VTC is 9.0.1.

VTC version: 1.0

Length: 10 minutes 31 seconds

Video format: QuickTime

Video compression: H.264

Pixel size: 720 x 540

Audio: None

Please read Terms of Use for Guests before watching any of the video tutorials.

Adobe Photoshop CS2 is a product of Adobe Systems Incorporated.

Adobe Photoshop Very Basics for Graphics Dummies #8: Animation The other day, my wife and I talked about our future plans.
