\nTOKYO (MacHouse) – These days, it’s getting difficult for us to find a subject for which to develop a new software product. Oh, wait… We’ve just gotten a new one. This new Windows<\/strong> software release is called SwatchAble<\/strong>.

\nSwatchAble is a simple Windows application that lets you create color swatch collections right out of pictures you select. Each picture may contain tens of thousands of different color pixels. And SwatchAble will only keep unique ones. Choose Pixel Scan > Open Image to select a picture file. In a separte window, choose Scan > Start Scanning Image to let SwatchAble scan color pixels. If everything goes well, you will find your swatch collections under the Swatch menu (on the main window). Furthermore, just as with Color2Code<\/strong>, you will be able to generate actual swatch images for the color profiles listed in the Colors window.<\/p>\n

Note that this application requires a database file, which can be downloaded if you choose Help > Download data file. Moreover, if your computer doesn’t have Microsoft Excel<\/strong> or Microsoft Access<\/strong> installed, you may be required to download the database engine installer from Microsoft’s web site<\/a>. You need to choose AccessDatabaseEngine_x64.exe<\/strong> as SwatchAble is a 64-bit application.<\/p>\n

This software title is currently distributed as a freeware title as it\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s still in beta. You can use it without limitations till August 1, 2012. It\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s been tested for Windows 7 64-bit.<\/p>\n
