\nSquared 5<\/a> has given both Mac and Windows users a great tool to use when it comes to multimedia files. MacHouse recommends every Mac user to grab a copy of their freeware, MPEG Streamclip. As of August 5, the current version of MPEG Streamclip for Mac is 1.7 and is in Universal Binary. \u00e2\u20ac\u00a8 <\/p>\n

MPEG Streamclip is quite a powerful application although the size of the latest version is merely 2.4 MB. It can be used to change video containers among AVI, MOV and MP4. And MPEG Streamclip accesses QuickTime components to perform video compression, which means you wouldn’t need QuickTime Pro to compress video with QuickTime codecs. But when you work on VOB files, whether you used QuickTime Pro or MPEG Streamclip, you must have Apple’s QuickTime MPEG-2 component<\/strong>, which is not free. \u00e2\u20ac\u00a8<\/p>\n

Please note that we used Version 1.5.1 for Mac to make this VTC (1.0). But concerning the functions that are covered in this VTC, the difference between 1.5.1 and 1.7.1 is negligible to those who actually use MPEG Streamclip 1.7.1.
