\nThere is no way in which you can completely prevent website visitors from downloading a particular QuickTime movie. That’s only because the webpage must be displaying a link pointing to the location of the movie. <\/p>\n

This video tutorial shows how to use Apple’s MakeRefMovie<\/a> to create a reference movie relative to a self-contained QuickTime video. The purpose of this tutorial is absolutely not to imply in any way that self-contained QuickTime movies can be protected. We only intend to show that you can make it difficult for website visitors to download the self-contained movie<\/strong> by disguising its location. That’s basically the same way in which website administrators use a gate file in SWF to disguise the location of the source file (FLV).<\/p>\n
