And she gave me a daily chore. She told me to water her Oxeye daisies at the yard once a day. Oops… I totally forgot about it. And her daisies are pretty much dead. When I forgot to water her flowers last time, I had to sleep on a couch for 5 days. Well, I guess I have to get on my iMac. So I launch Adobe Illustrator CS2. In a matter of 10 minutes or so, I somehow managed to revive her daisies.

The following tutorial shows simple steps to design Oxeye daisies, using Adobe Illustrator CS2.

After drawing a circle with Ellipse Tool, choose Distort & Transform > Pucker & Bloat under Effect. Adjust the percentage to 100.

Next, copy, paste and rotate the object. Repeat this sequence several times.

By this way, you may have applied fill colors to petals. Select them all and apply none. Then apply Expand Appearances while they are active. Then use Direct Select Tool to grab handles and adjust the size of each petal for some variation.

You can now apply fill colors. Apply gradient colors with white and gray a little bit differently to each set of petals.

Next, let’s create the middle part of the blossom. Pick up Polar Grid Tool. Give large numbers to Concentric Dividers and Radial Dividers. Apply both fill color and stroke.

Finally, you may want to apply Outer Glow after selecting all sets of petals.

<img decoding="async" src="mac/tutorials/illustrator_daisies/illustrator_daisies_01.jpg" "140" height="105" alt="Adobe Illustrator tutorial" />

<img decoding="async" src="mac/tutorials/illustrator_daisies/illustrator_daisies_02.jpg" "140" height="105" alt="Adobe Illustrator tutorial" />

<img decoding="async" src="mac/tutorials/illustrator_daisies/illustrator_daisies_03.jpg" "140" height="105" alt="Adobe Illustrator tutorial" />

<img decoding="async" src="mac/tutorials/illustrator_daisies/illustrator_daisies_04.jpg" "140" height="105" alt="Adobe Illustrator tutorial" />

<img decoding="async" src="mac/tutorials/illustrator_daisies/illustrator_daisies_05.jpg" "140" height="105" alt="Adobe Illustrator tutorial" />

<img decoding="async" src="mac/tutorials/illustrator_daisies/illustrator_daisies_06.jpg" "140" height="105" alt="Adobe Illustrator tutorial" />

<img decoding="async" src="mac/tutorials/illustrator_daisies/illustrator_daisies_07.jpg" "140" height="105" alt="Adobe Illustrator tutorial" />

<img decoding="async" src="mac/tutorials/illustrator_daisies/illustrator_daisies_08.jpg" "140" height="105" alt="Adobe Illustrator tutorial" />

Illustrator CS2 is a product of Adobe Systems Incorporated.

Several days ago, my wife left town for a business trip to St. Louis.
