\nThe other day, my wife and I were having a cup of tea at a balcony in late afternoon. We were just talking. My wife mentioned that it had not rained for a long time. I think the last time we had rain was about 6 months ago. My wife was very concerned because her garden flowers could use rain badly. Then she said “Honey, my flowers are dying. Could you do something?” “You want rain, huh!?,” I said. So I went to my computer room, starting up my iMac and launching Adobe Photoshop. In a matter of 5 minutes or so, we had a squall of rain. I still can’t forget her happy face.<\/p>\n

The following tutorial shows easy steps to design a scene with a squall of rain at a balcony, using Adobe Photoshop CS2. The photo image used in this tutorial comes from Webshots<\/a>.

<\/br><\/p>\n

    \n
  1. After making a selection on the balcony floor, press the delete key. Then create a new layer.<\/li>\n
  2. Fill the entire new layer with sheer black. Then apply to it Noise<\/strong> > Add Noise<\/strong>.<\/li>\n
  3. Next, apply to the layer Blur<\/strong> > Motion Blur<\/strong>.<\/li>\n
  4. We need one more filter to create a scene of a wet floor. Apply to the layer Artistic<\/strong> > Plastic Wrap<\/strong>. Increase Highlight Strength<\/strong> to the maximum.<\/li>\n
  5. Adjust the size and position of the wet floor layer.<\/li>\n
  6. Let’s create a new layer for a scene of a squall of rain.<\/li>\n
  7. Apply to the layer Noise and Motion Blur.<\/li>\n
  8. Make a selection to remove the unusable area due to Motion Blur. Select Inverse<\/strong> under Select<\/strong> and press the delete key.<\/li>\n
  9. Stretch the rain layer vertically to cover the entire image.<\/li>\n
  10. Finally, switch the blend mode to Hard Light<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
