Some Torrent websites are run illegally. Inevitably, they move from one hosting company to another. And online gambling is illegal in some countries. So how are Torrent and porn sites related to each other? We know that many Torrent websites advertise porn sites, gambling sites or both. They seem to get along with each other. These days, spyware has joined the club. Like this one, “cmb_243461.exe.” According to Kaspersky and Symantec, this PC program is spyware. More precisely, it’s a dialer. If installed on a PC, it connects a porn site without machine owner’s permission.

So how did I get this spyware program? I accidentally clicked on a folder that contains bookmarks to some Torrent websites in OmniWeb, an Internet browser from the Omni Group. Then OmniPage went out of control and connected several porn sites. It hung up, so I force-quit it. Then I found three copies of this spyware program in our computer. It’s harmless under Mac OS or other non-PC operating systems.
