Adobe After Effects – Simple Creativity #18: 3D Film Rolling

Adobe After Effects keywords and concepts: Expression, Perspective, CC Cylinder, Distort, Corner Pin, Transform, Flop, Null Object, Transition, Venetian Blinds, Casts Shadows, Light layer

The sample movie is designed such that the film role and the extension part are continuous. For example, if you see the first screenshot below, we see a scene from Nicolas Cage’s ‘The Wicker Man (2006)’ followed by one from Russell Crowe’s ‘A Good Year (2006).’ Just after one second, we then see different scenes from these two films. The two parts rotate in different directions, so we see a scene from ‘The Wicker Man (2006)’ first again.
