Is YouTube Out of Hand?

YouTube

Several days ago, it was reported that YouTube co-founder Chad Hurley suggested that their video sharers may be paid. YouTube is now supported by a large group of video sharers who post video clips from TV shows and fringe on the copyright law. For example, this video is apparently a copyrighted material. For the last several days, we have spent some good time notifying YouTube which video is in violation of the copyright law. Unfortunately, YouTube seems to have taken down any of them. Some people do download our video tutorials posted at YouTube and post them at their websites without citing the ownership. YouTube will be inevitably flooded with more copyrighted materials once they start paying these violators.

While YouTube fails to listen to small organizations like us, a recent article by Greg Sandoval at CNET News.com suggests that YouTube does listen to big organizations like Viacom. Actually, Greg Sandoval reports that some video sharers are wrongly accused by YouTube of copyright infringement.

YouTube has also shown their willingness to deal with the growing problem of copyrighted video clips for the Japanese. It’s been reported that co-founder Chad Hurley, acoompanied by other two YouTube executives, are coming to Tokyo within the next two weeks to meet the executives of Japanese Society for Rights of Authors, Composers and Publishers (JASRAC).
