Is it Microsoft, xeler8r.com or us (1)?

The other day, we searched the Internet with help of Google for good Adobe After Effects tutorials. Then we ran into xeler8r.com. We saw a category that said “Web Links.” It looked like we could add a link to our website. “Huh, nice!,” we thought, at first.

We had to register. All right. So we set up a new Hotmail account only for this purpose. We then registered an account at xeler8r. We received a message concerning account activation. And we clicked on the link. Our account was activated. Great. And we added a link.

One week passed. Two weeks passed. Hmm… Nothing happens. Our link request was apparently ignored. Then at Day 16, we received a porn-related spam message, which is titled

“Chi(k gets her sweet ass pounded”

The problem is that there are only three parties that are aware of this Hotmail account.

  • Microsoft … We use one Hotmail account to receive messages each from only single untrustworthy website. And this is the first time we received a spam message.
  • xeler8r … It’s the only source of spam besides us and Microsoft’s Hotmail.
  • MacHouse … Us?

Maybe, the administrator of xeler8r.com should register an account and add a link to see what happens for himself/herself.
