Beware of PayPal Phishing Message

anti spam

PayPal phishing If you have received a message titled “Notification: PayPal Billing Department,” watch out! It’s been sent for phishing purpose. How do we know that it’s a phishing message? Well, we’ve received this message at junk912@gmail.com. We use this particular address to collect and analyze junk e-mail messages. And, of course, PayPal is not supposed to know that we use this e-mail address.

Another phishy (fishy) part is wording. The message says, “Failure to update your records will result in account suspension. Whoa… That’s a strong message. If it said “Failure to update your records may result in account suspension,” it would sound more credible. This message is most likely written by someone who dropped out of high school during his or her first grade.

  1. Have gotten similar supposedly from ebay, re: delivery or payment on some item never heard of.
I forward these to spam@ebay.com or spoof@paypal.com, always they report back that these are not from them.
Have taken to showing all headers, copying all the header info, and pasting it into the spamail that I forward to spam@host site.xx, also look up the IP and find where they start from. That’s when I figured I needed to make sure the host site got that info too.
Some of that dried up almost instantly.
