We receive an e-mail message shown above (one to the left) a couple of days ago. It looks like we could buy Adobe and Microsoft software titles at great discount. Well, prices are actually too good to be true. So we simply showed this message to Microsoft. And we have received their reply.

Why do we turn this possible software pirate?

  • Is MacHouse against software piracy? We aren’t as much as we should be.
  • Is MacHouse jealous because they are making money? No, we aren’t, really.
  • Are you Microsoft’s dog? We wouldn’t be bothered even if we were.
  • We turned them in because they are cyber criminals. Cyber criminals look for chances to make money only by deceiving Internet users. If you purchase an illegal software title,

  • You are unlikely to get customer support from the software developer.
  • You will never get upgrade discount.
  • You may end up getting nothing after paying a few hundred dollars.
  • This site is most likely operated by people who associate with those cybercriminals who send spam messages. That’s because we received the initial message in the form of spam. If you give them your valid e-mail address, then they are most likely to use it to phish you.

*At the time of writing this article, the software website was still running.
