Adobe Labs Releasing Apollo Alpha to Public

Adobe Labs has released an alpha version of a cross-platform system runtime. According to Adobe Labs, Apollo “allows developers to leverage their existing web development skills (Flash, Flex, HTML, JavaScript, Ajax) to build and deploy rich Internet applications (RIAs) to the desktop.”

The alpha version is available for free and can be downloaded after registration or login. Windows users need XP Service Pack 2 or Vista Home Premium edition. Mac users need PowerPC or Intel-version of OS X 10.4.
