University of Missouri System announced in May 8 that its computer database has been exploited. The released information on its website says that the intruder may have stolen the names and social security numbers of as many as 22,396 UM system employees and current and former students at Columbia campus.

The University of Missouri System has four campuses including Columbia, Kansas City, Rolla and St. Louis. The main campus is located in Columbia, an old state capital, situated at the intersection between I-70 and State Highway 63 or about 35 miles north from Jefferson City, the current state capital.
