Mac-Related Websites Fall Victims to Affliate Spam

TOKYO (MacHouse) – The Omni Group (omnigroup.com) is the developer of Mac-only cool applications including OmniWeb (web browser) and OmniGraffle (illustration). MacRumors (macrumors.com)… We don’t often go there, probably once a month at most. But I suppose it’s a popular hangout for Mac users to exchange information. The forums of these 2 popular Mac-related websites have been exploited for affiliate spam.

As shown in Screenshot 01, affiliate spam posts circulated in the WordPress blog community. If one clicked on the 2nd hyperlink, he or she would be directed to a specific post at forums.omnigroup.com. There is a hyperlink above a big screenshot. This hyperlink is supposed to forward Internet users to the website of mens-medication.com/viagra/. It’s a fake online pharmacy store. Likewise, the forwarding link at MacRumors: Forums will direct Internet users to pills-deals.com/cialis.
