The following video tutorial deals with the Matroska multimedia format. Matroska is a container format just like AVI and MOV. So it’s not the matter of installing a proper plug-in to open Matroska-formatted video files with QuickTime.
The simple video tutorial we introduced about 14 months ago only shows how to extract media tracks out of a Matroska-formatted video file with no audio commentary. This video tutorial shows both how to extract media tracks out of a Matroska-formatted video file and how to pack audio and video tracks in the Matroska contrainer. We mainly use three applications in this tutorial: MKVToolNix, QuickTime Pro and MPEG Streamclip. The original video clip used in this video tutorial comes from Internet Archive.
