All right. A porn affiliate spammer sent us a list of 100 blog websites hosted at Google-owned Blogger about an hour ago. I followed a link we found at one of the Blogger porn websites. And I arrived at Technorati. Then I clicked on a hyperlink that said “View all.” And I eventually ended up at a page that showed me a YouTube video. affiliate spam

Technorati: No Pornography… Really?

It’s not just Google-owned Blogger that superficially rejects pornographic images. For example, if you have a blog website, you may have heard of Technorati. It’s one of the major search engines specialized in blogs. And, yes, this search engine lets you find blogs that contain pornographic images.

No, no, no, don’t get us wrong. Technorati can support pornography if they choose to. It’s just that Technorati’s Terms of Services says no pornography. We found search results of pornographic blogs by following hyperlinks posted at Blogger’s porn websites. Instead of superficially saying no to porn, why don’t Blogger and Technorati simply accept it?

We are shocked and disappointed to learn that nation’s top schools can also fall victims to affiliate spam so innocently and easily. The victimized websites for affiliate spam include those of Harvard Law School H2O (http://h2o.law.harvard.edu/) and Stanford University Liverly Arts (http://livelyarts.stanford.edu/).

University of Minnesota Center for Holocaust and Genocide Studies Website Exploited for Affiliate Spam

The University of Minnesota has a website to document Nazi’s holocaust and other tragic genocide events. The website says it’s “dedicated to the Memory of Raoul Wallenberg.” Raoul Wallenberg is a Swedish humanitarian who saved “tens of thousands of Hungarian Jews” during WWII, according to Wikipedia. Sadly, an affiliate spammer exploited this website to earn commissions. Continue reading
