TOKYO (MacHouse) – IBM has released a free software suite that is based on the Open Document Format (ODF) standard. Lotus Symphony consists of Lotus Symphony Documents (word processor), Lotus Symphony Presentations (presentation) and Lotus Symphony Spreadsheets (spreadsheet). According to IBM, Lotus Symphony supports macro for a batch process. Currently, Lotus Symphony is only available for Windows (Windows XP and Windows Vista) and Linux (SLED 10, RHEL 5 and Redhat5). Adobe to Release Audition 3

Adobe Systems Incorporated has announced a major upgrade to its professional audio production software title. According to the company,
“Adobe Audition 3 is designed to give audio professionals — sound designers, recording and mastering engineers, and musicians — a flexible production toolkit for recording, mixing, editing, and mastering audio.”
Adobe Audio is currently available for Windows OS only. According to Adobe, Audition 3 will be available in the last quarter of 2007.

NBC Universal to Sell TV Shows with Amazon
Last week, Apple, Inc. and NBC Universal both acknowledged that there would be no more sales of new NBC TV show episodes at iTunes digital store. Adobe System Incorporated announced today that the company has acquired Scene7, Inc. Scene7 is a real-time rich media delivery service company based in Novato, CA. According to its website, Scene7 “offers rich media solutions built on a robust, integrated technology platform – for unrivaled breadth, depth, scalability and ease of ongoing rich media use.”
