In such cases, it’s quite difficult to work blindly within the invisibly-defined area and stay out of boundaries. DeskOne is a small Windows desktop application that lets you visually define a work area in real time while you use screen-capture software or do any work on Desktop. Using DeskOne, you can define a work area with just a click on a button. You can even select a color and change the opacity level of the shadow area.

In fact, we’ve developed DeskOne to satisfy our needs. We use a screen-capture application for Mac to record desktop movements while running Windows OS with VMWare. DeskOne is now our must-use application when we write software manuals.

TOKYO (MacHouse) – We’ve initially developed PNG4iDevices for Mac users. Now, it’s available for Windows users.

PNG4iDevices is a simple desktop application that will allow software developers to generate various sizes of PNG files for iPhone & iPad applications. With a single square-ratio PNG/PSD/TIFF image, you can generate different PNG images (29 x 29 px, 50 x 50 px, 57 x 57 px, 114 x 114 px, …, 512 x 512 px). If you have a source image each for multiple applications, you can just drag and drop them all onto the listbox, which serves as a drop box, to generate icon images at a time.

TOKYO (MacHouse) – We signed for the second web hosting plan in August, 2012. A few days later, our new web site was inaccessible. In a matter of three days, the hosting server was offline. DXCrypt is a simple desktop Windows application that lets you encrypt and decrypt multiple documents at a time. If you want to encrypt the content of a text document, simply drag and drop it onto the drop box to the left, which will prompt you to enter an encryption key. Enter the same encryption key again for confirmation. Then? That’s it. It’ll take just three steps. If you want to put it back to the original state, drag and drop the encrypted document onto the drop box to the right. Enter the encryption key. And done… It’s so easy to use. You want to encrypt several text documents of different types (CSS, HTML, PHP, RTF, TXT…) at the same time? That can be easily done as well.

TOKYO (MacHouse) – If you are a PC user, you probably know Microsoft will release Windows 8 at the end of this October. It’s pretty much obvious that the release of Windows 8 is nothing but their attempt to get people interested in the Metro design. Microsoft wants people to get used to the Metro design, hoping that they’ll also buy Windows phones and Windows-installed tablets. The traditional Start button is gone. And desktop users have to go through the tile screen, whether they like it or not.

Also, don’t forget that they are opening Windows Store. What is Windows Store? It’s a desktop application store that can be easily accessible from the tile screen. You may have heard that Microsoft will get the 30% share while software developers get the 70% of the revenue by selling their applications at Windows Store. It sounds familiar, doesn’t it?
