Learning Mac OS X with OnyX – Part 2
Mac OX X can be a lot more complicated than you realize. If you want to change system settings, you will probably open System Preferences, go to a specific preference pane and make changes. But Mac OS X comes with much more commands than we see under those system preference panes. And you may have to use Terminal to get what you are looking for if it’s not available in any of the system preference panes.
Mac users have always stayed away from command input interface just as in DOS and long supported Mac OS because of Graphical User Interface. So some users aren’t very happy in using Terminal. And that’s where OnyX comes in. Continue reading

Georgetown University McDonough School of Business Website Exploited for Sex Spam
Georgetown University is one of the academic institutions in America offering best law and MBA programs. Its business school McDonough School of Business (MSB) has its own subdomain at msb.georgetown.edu. An affiliate spam group exploited MSB Bulletin Boards and installed sex-oriented webpages. A CGI script of some sort is installed in each page. So visitors to these webpages will be automatically redirected to sponsoring sex websites. Continue reading

An affiliate spam (pharmacy spam, replica spam, insurance spam, finance spam…) group has exploited several websites. The exploited websites include academic institutions such as California State University Chico Campus (www.csuchico.edu) and Universidad de Guadlajara Centro Universitario de la Costa Sur in Mexico (www.cucsur.udg.mx). A series of affiliate spam exploitations has hit the California State campus especially hard. At its Progressive Student Union website (www.csuchico.edu/psu/), hundreds of spam pages have been discovered. Continue reading
