The following game play video covers the first half of Chapter 3 of Dead Space. Dead Space is Electronic Arts‘ latest third-person/action game.

The USG Kellion is gone. So Hammond‘s plan is probably to use the Ishimura to leave the Aegis System ASAP. As soon as Isaac gets out of the tram, Hammond tells him that they face two major problems. No. 1, there’s no fuel in the engines. No. 2, the gravity centrifuge is offline.  Continue reading →

The following game play movies for Dead Space, Electronic Arts‘ latest third-person/action game, concludes Chapter 2. The video quality is relatively bad and the file size is relatively small because we compressed a video with a resolution of 900 x 675 pixels at first by mistake. (11/21/08 The game play video has been recompressed.) Sorry… But we are not going to reproduce it with a correct resolution for now. In the meantime, we are likely to produce several more game play movies to cover Chapter 3 and 4.

Chapter 3 is not difficult to clear to the extent that Isaac only faces the same creatures. He will be caught by a surprise on the way back from the Centrifuge Area. It’s a bit confusing to the extent that he has to go to several areas including Refueling Control Stations, Decon Chamber, the Centrifuge Room and the Engine Room.

Chapter 4 is a lot difficult because of new creatures. And there is a scene where Isaac has to protect the spaceship by shooting down asteroids with an ADS cannon while Hammond works on a computer. I played this scene probably around 20 times. And I finally got used to it.  Continue reading →

Playing Dead Space with Boot Camp – Dead Space Game Play Video Part III – 31 Minutes

For the past few days, we’ve been releasing game play movies for Dead Space, Electronic Arts‘ latest third-person/action game. Game play video Part III and IV together will entirely cover Chapter 2.

Over the last chapter, the only ride out of the USG Ishigima has been destroyed. Hammond said earlier that he wanted to find out how Captain Benjamin Mathius died. In order for Ms. Daniels to access such information, they need Isaac to recover Captain’s authorization codes. Captain’s body has been located at Medlab.

Starting with Chapter 2, when the tram arrives at Medical Deck, Isaac spots a blind-folded woman, who hands Kinesis Module over to him. He can now lift and move objects by pressing and holding down the F key. Entering Security Station, Hammond tells Isaac that they have been attacked and that Ms. Daniels is gone. Does he mean she is dead? Hopefully, not…

In this chapter, Isaac needs to locate Captain’s RIG codes and then to find senior medical officer Nicole Brennan. Checking ship’s map, Hammond says the door to the emergency wing is barricaded. Isaac now needs to obtain

1. a shock pad (detonator) from Zero-G Therapy
2. a white-red container with thermite in it from Medical Storage

to blow up the barricade. In this game play video, we have Isaac head himself to Zero-G Therapy at first.  Continue reading →

Playing Dead Space with Boot Camp – Dead Space Game Play Video Part II – 29 Minutes

About 36 hours ago, we introduced a game play video for Dead Space, Electronic Arts‘ latest third-person/action game. Dead Space was developed by EA Redwood Shores. It’s an unexpectedly interesting game. Unexpectedly, well… We didn’t really expect a lot of good quality out of this game partly because of the title. I can tell you that we have decided to introduce at least a total of four game play movies for Dead Space, covering Chapter 1 and Chapter 2 entirely.

Over the last game play video, Zach Hammond instructed Isaac to repair the tram system. Kendra Daniels disagreed. The data board is fried, and a broken tram blocks the (tram) tunnel. Isaac managed to reach the Repair Room to remove the damaged tram. There was a problem. One of the claw arms was dysfunctional. That’s where the last game play video ends.

The second Dead Space game play video starts right around the repair monitor. (See the screenshot to the right.) And it will conclude the first chapter of the game. Isaac needs to hold the second arm somehow while it’s reaching the broken tram. After Isaac initializes the tram data board computer, Daniels and Hammond will head themselves to the Bridge. Then Hammond instructs Isaac to the Kellion. But when he does… A totally unexpected accident near-kills Isaac.  Continue reading →

Playing Dead Space with Boot Camp – Dead Space Game Play Video Part I – 22 Minutes

Dead Space is Electronic Arts‘ latest third-person/action game. It was released in October 20. The game was developed by EA Redwood Shores.

In this game, you will play the character of Isaac Clarke. He is an engineering and ship systems specialist. Unlike others, he wears a special suit with a light blue heath meter at the back. It’s no question that’s a unique suit that you will never see in other games.

Deep space mining is a lucrative business, they say in the game. The USG Ishimura (Ishimura is a Japanese last name meaning ‘stone village’) is a mining vessel, which has gone missing in the Aegis System. There is no communications transmission from the vessel.

Dispatched to the Aegis System is a maintenance team aboard USG Kellion including Isaac Clarke, Kendra Daniels (computer specialist), Zach Hammond (the chief security officer) and others. Their mission is to locate USG Ishimura and find out the cause of communications blackout. As they explore the vessel, it’s empty, and there is no vital sign of life.  Continue reading →
