TOKYO (MacHouse) – We signed for the second web hosting plan in August, 2012. A few days later, our new web site was inaccessible. In a matter of three days, the hosting server was offline. And we had to do something. Something like manually accessing our web site every 5 minutes? That doesn’t sound feasible, does it?

TOKYO (MacHouse) – If you have one or more confidential documents that you want to keep from the public eye, you are not alone. So do you put them in a safe and hide the key?

DXCrypt is a simple desktop Windows application that lets you encrypt and decrypt multiple documents at a time. If you want to encrypt the content of a text document, simply drag and drop it onto the drop box to the left, which will prompt you to enter an encryption key. Enter the same encryption key again for confirmation. Then? That’s it. It’ll take just three steps. If you want to put it back to the original state, drag and drop the encrypted document onto the drop box to the right. Enter the encryption key. And done… It’s so easy to use. You want to encrypt several text documents of different types (CSS, HTML, PHP, RTF, TXT…) at the same time? That can be easily done as well.

TOKYO (MacHouse) – If you are a PC user, you probably know Microsoft will release Windows 8 at the end of this October. It’s pretty much obvious that the release of Windows 8 is nothing but their attempt to get people interested in the Metro design. Microsoft wants people to get used to the Metro design, hoping that they’ll also buy Windows phones and Windows-installed tablets. The traditional Start button is gone. And desktop users have to go through the tile screen, whether they like it or not.

Also, don’t forget that they are opening Windows Store. What is Windows Store? It’s a desktop application store that can be easily accessible from the tile screen. You may have heard that Microsoft will get the 30% share while software developers get the 70% of the revenue by selling their applications at Windows Store. It sounds familiar, doesn’t it? TOKYO (MacHouse) – When you run a business by yourself, you have to do a lot of things – things that you like and things that you don’t like – for yourself. Personally, I hate to do taxes. I also hate to edit web pages. It’s boring. Speaking of editing web pages, I use a template package, just replacing one string with another over several pages, whenever I release a new software title. And I wish I could just click on a single button so that an application could do it all over several files. It’s a simple wish that could save 10 minutes of my valuable time. How about using Adobe‘s Dreamweaver? Well, Dreamweaver is a great web script editor and has a powerful Find/Replace feature. But you still have to run a search manually on each page. If you have the same request, your wait is over.

Replace123 makes my wish come true. Whether you have one or 50 web pages, Replace123 lets you replace a string with another over those files at a time quickly. It’s not just HTML files that Replace123 can handle. It can read many types of text stream files including asp, php, pl, txt, xml…
