What’s Coming Up Next? Tomato Software Introducing Design Mob for iOS

iPhone iPad Design Mob

YOKOHAMA (Señor Tomato) – This is the most beautiful season of the year in the Tokyo area as we see cherry blossoms here and there. In my area, I see a lot of red and yellow tulips while jogging.

I always wanted to create a software title that lets people share mobile app designs, but I was quite reluctant to work on it as I expected a lot of hurdles. Well, eight days later… Hmm… It’s way sooner than I had expected. I’m ready to introduce to you a new iOS app submission to Apple’s App Store. It’s called Design Mob.

Nowadays, use of Figma is a fixture in the iOS software development. You may receive a design blueprint from your client through Figma. I have a couple of cases where I received them from clients. They do offer a great service except that the membership prices are quite expensive. So I wanted to develop something that people can use to share design projects for iOS users.

Design Mob is an iOS app for iPhone and iPad users that lets them share mobile app design projects. A design administrator can work on their projects locally as it doesn’t require a constant WiFi connection. Once they are finished, they can share the project they select with a tap of a button with their development team. Those who receive a design project are referred to as design users who don’t have to do anything but to wait after accepting an invitation from the administrator. When the design administrator pushes a project, their devices will receive a notification and automatically save the project file. All they have to do, then, is to select a design project and a screen to see the blueprint.

Design Mob supports more than twenty phone and tablet screen sizes in addition to more than twenty mobile UI components including Button, TextField, Map, Switch. So all you to do is add this and that to the canvas. Move them to the right place, change the text color and so forth. You can also create a drop-down menu with actual tab names.

The app also lets you create a PDF file from a blueprint you select. So select a design project, which can contain more than one screen. Select one of them, and you will get a share link.

The main objective of using this app is to bridge the design administrator and their development team members. Once the design administrator taps the push button, all team members will receive a notification call, and the app will get a design project file through WiFi without manual download.   Continue reading

What’s Coming Up Next? Tomato Software Introducing Late2Office 2 for iOS

iPhone iPad Late2Office 2

YOKOHAMA (Señor Tomato) – The spring season has finally come to the Tokyo area. Yet, it has been raining these days. Hopefully, we will have sunny days so that we can see beautiful cherry blossoms.

I’ve been developing apps that use CloudKit. I have a new new to announce today. This new submission to Apple’s App Store is called. Late2Office 2.

When you use public transportation to commute to your office, anything can happen that prevents you from arriving on time. It might be a matter of making a phone call with your smartphone to let your colleagues know that you are running late, provided that they are already in the office. In some countries, there might be a public rule of manners that prevents you from making phone calls inside a bus or a train. But if you want to let someone know that you are running late, then what do you do?

Late2Office 2 is an iOS app for iPhone and iPad users that lets employees report to an office manager remotely in times of commute trouble so that you won’t worry anyone when running late. An office manager can see a list of their employees and their corresponding arrival statuses.

Late2Office 2 can create different charts for the commute habits of its employees. For example, an office manager might find that one employee runs late 90% of the time because they have to take their kids to school on the way to work. In such a case, it might be a better idea for the office manager to change the work start time for this employee. Late2Office 2 is a tool for identifying issues, not one for employee surveillance. It is designed so that the office manager and employees can work together to correct commute problems, allowing the employee to keep working, as it will be beneficial for both sides to maintain a low turnover rate.   Continue reading

What’s Coming Up Next? Tomato Software Introducing Robo Desk 2 for iOS

iPhone iPad Robo Desk 2

YOKOHAMA (Señor Tomato) – I still don’t feel that the spring season has arrived in our area. It was unusually warm a week ago. I think the highest temperature was 20 °C. It was only 12 °C yesterday.

Anyway, It’s been only six days since I announced the last iOS app but I have a new one to introduce to you today. This new app is called. Robo Desk 2.

Robo Desk 2 is a virtual front desk assistant that is designed to answer visitors at your reception desk so that you can all concentrate on your own office assignment. If you like what Robo Desk 2 does, you can probably replace your human receptionists with an iOS device (preferably, iPad) running Robo Desk 2 in the future.

Robo Desk 2 lets you create a list of employees that your visitors to have an appointment with. It’s up to you as an office administrator to decide whether a visitor must have an appointment and select one to see. When a visitor taps the submit button, Robo Desk 2 will send a reception update to anyone responsible for the front desk. You can enlist as many front desk handlers as you need. Just send each of them an invitation. Once they accept your invitation, the handshake between the front desk handler and the administrator is complete.

So every time a visitor taps the submit button, the same reception update will reach all front desk handlers. And they will receive a notification alert. Shown in their screen is a list of visitation logs. They can select one and tap the magnifier button to see the details of the selected log.   Continue reading

What’s Coming Up Next? Tomato Software Introducing Supply Chain Mobile for iOS

iPhone iPad Supply Chain Mobile

YOKOHAMA (Señor Tomato) – This is another day of double releases. Earlier, I introduced a macOS application called Supply Chain Central. The other half is Supply Chain Mobile. It’s an iOS app for iPhone and iPad users.

In the days of smart phone use, if you have a supply chain business, your retailers probably want a quick shipment update delivered to their phones and tablets and don’t want to let them down, do you?. Or your days may be numbered. Supply Chain Mobile works closely with its macOS counterpart called Supply Chain Central so that retailers and delivery truck drivers will get an instant shipment update sent to their iOS devices. So a supply chain company manager uses Supply Chain Central to create a shipment order and then pushes a shipment update with its location and an expected arrival date. They can enlist retailers and delivery truck drivers so that the same shipment update will be delivered to them at the same time. A retailer can tap the notification alert to see the details of the shipment update and may return an update to the supplier with a thanks note. The delivery truck driver may choose to return a shipment update to the supplier with the latest arrival date and time and the current shipment location.   Continue reading
