Microsoft Business Unit has officially acknowledged that they are developing the first Univeral version of Microsoft Office for Mac, which will run on both PowerPC and Intel Mac machines. Microsoft Office 2008 for Mac is scheduled for release in the second half of 2007.

Microsoft Office 2004 for Mac Updated to 11.3
Microsoft Corporation has released a new update for the latest Mac version of Microsoft Office. According to Microsoft’s Mac site MacTopia, this update has the following improvement.
“to enhance security and stability, including fixes for vulnerabilities that an attacker can use to overwrite the contents of your computer’s memory with malicious code.”

Adobe Production Studio for Mac
Adobe Systems Incorporated has outlined the Mac release of Adobe Production Studio. An official release is scheduled in mid-2007. This professional suite includes Adobe Premiere Pro, Adobe Encore DVD and Adobe Southbooth on top of Adobe After Effects, Adobe Illustrator and Adobe Photoshop. Adobe discontinued the Mac release of its video editing application, Adobe Premiere, a few years ago partly due to fierce competition from Apple’s Final Cut Pro. Adobe says that this professional suite will be demonstrated at the Macworld 2007 Conference and Exhibition in San Francisco. (January 9 to 12)
Briefly: BBEdit 8.6 Released
Bare Bones Software has updated the Universal version of its popular text edit software BBEdit. BBEdit isn’t just an ordinary text editor. It’s been around for more than 10 years. The current version of BBEdit even allows the user to FTP-connect a server to upload a file. Nonetheless, Bare Bones Software’s website has not been updated for BBEdit 8.6.
