Danish security management company has released a security advisory report for the current version of QuickTime, version 7.1.3. According to Secunia, QuickTime’s flaw can cause buffer overflow in handling RTSP URLs. This flaw can then allow the exploiter to direct the user to malicious websites. OpenOffice Releasing OpenOffice.org 2.1
OpenOffice.org, a division of Sun Microsystems which promotes and publishes free, open-source, cross-platform office software, releases a new version. This new Mac version is in Universal Binary and available in four languages including English. Unlike NeoOffice, which publishes a port of OpenOffice.org using Java, OpenOffice.org office suite requires X11.

System maintenance application, OnyX, is upgraded to 1.7.7. OnyX uses many open-source Unix programs and make them available in GUI under Mac OS X.
Microsoft Office 2004 for Mac Updated
Microsoft announces on its Mac product page, mactopia, that Microsoft Office 2004 for Mac has been updated to 11.3.2. The updater packed in .dmg disc image is available in eight languages, and the file size is 13.7 Mb. According to mactopia, this update contains several improvements only for PowerPoint and Entourage, and not a lot of detail is revealed.
