Apple Computer has updated frameworks and share components for its pro applications such as “Final Cut Studio 5.1, Final Cut Pro 5.1, Motion 2.1, Soundtrack Pro 1.1, Apple Qmaster 2.1, Compressor 2.1, DVD Studio Pro 4.1, LiveType 2.1, Shake 4.1, and Final Cut Express HD 3.5.” Some of the updated QuickTime components include ‘HDVCodec,’ ‘Uncompressed 422,’ ‘IMXCodec.’ For more information, go to Pro Applications Update 2006-01.

Firefox 2.0 Released
mozilla.org has released the latest version of its Internet browser, Firefox. The latest version, 2.0 RC1 is available for Windows, Mac and Linux users. The Mac version is in Universal Binary and works for both PPC-based and Interl-based CPUs.
Apple, Updating Aperture to 1.5
Apple today released an updated version of its raw image editor for photographers. According to Apple, new features include “flexible library management,” “automatically generated previews,” “drag-and-drop JPEG export” and so force. DivX, Inc., Going to Nasdaq
DivX, Inc., the developer of a popular video codec, announced on Friday its initial public offering of 9,100,000 shares of common stock at $16.00 per share. This public offering can generate $145.6 million for DivX. Today, DivX stock finished its trading at $18.50 per share.
Currently, DivX offers Mac users its codec, whose latest version is 6.25, for $19.99. This version is in Universal Binary. And DivX Converter, which allows users to access DivX codec without QuickTime, is also in Universal Binary. The current version is 1.1.1.
Apple, Releasing AirPort Update 2006-001 and Security Update 2006-005
Apple has released a new security update with security improvement on wireless network. Even if you don’t connect the Internet with wireless AirPort, as long as you have AirPort Extreme and ‘AirPort’ is turned on inside System Preferences’ ‘Network,’ your system may be vulnerable . Then you are expected to update your system. According to Apple, a
“heap buffer overflow exists in the AirPort wireless driver’s handling of scan cache updates. An attacker in local proximity may be able to trigger the overflow by injecting a maliciously-crafted frame into the wireless network. This could lead to a system crash, privilege elevation, or arbitrary code execution with system privileges.”
