TOKYO (MacHouse) – Yes, I’ve been slow this month. I’ve published just one iOS app so far. That’s because I had to learn a new thing, which is how to use CloudKit (iCloud Drive framework). Well, I have at least two more apps to publish this month. One of them, which I submitted to Mac App Store several minutes ago, is called… Yes, you’ve guessed it right. It’s Old Talk Desktop.

Old Talk Desktop is the macOS equivalent of an iOS app called Old Talk, which is already available at Apple’s App Store. Old Talk Desktop lets you create an Internet meme with ease. I mean, it doesn’t even require a picture of your own. Old Talk Desktop accesses the iCloud server with a pool of movie screenshots from old movies that have expired and then that are placed in the public domain. Unlike the iOS version, you can overlay as many text labels and comment boxes as you want over a movie screenshot you select. Also, the desktop version lets you submit your Internet memes to the public database hosted by the iCloud server so that other users can view them. TOKYO (MacHouse) – This month is almost over. Hmm… I still have time for one more desktop application. In fact, I submitted a new software title to Mac App Store several minutes ago. This new software submission is called justIcons 3.

The justIcons series is now more than four years old. It’s been developed from a scratch in Swift. justIcons 3 supports both Xcode 8 and Xcode 9.

justIcons 3 makes software development easier by letting you create an icon set (AppIcon.appiconset) out of a single image file for Xcode. Imagine that you have to create more than a dozen images if you develop a Universal iOS app. With justIcons 3, it’ll take a single image to create the entire icon set folder containing the JSON folder (Contents.json).   Continue reading →

And, yes, the TextAround series is still alive. It’s been built from a scratch in Swift. This series is almost four years old. What’s so special about TextAround 3 that TextAround2 users didn’t see? TextAround 3 lets you flip individual letters horizontally, vertically or horizontally and vertically. Bad news is that another one is being sent to Graphics & Design. I myself have had enough. But what can I say? TOKYO (MacHouse) – The Image2Go series is one of my longest-running software applications. It’s now 6 and half years old. Doesn’t it require some makeover since the last major upgrade was made more than three years ago? Well, I submitted a new software title to Mac App Store several minutes. This new software submission is called Image2Go 3.

There are many great graphic software titles out there. Adobe Photoshop? It’s amazing. Adobe Fireworks? I like it. But when it comes to simple tasks, they all fail. They may let you run a macro to quickly process a bunch of files at a time. But how long does it take you to just convert a dozen PNG files into JPEG images? Image2Go 3 is all about similicity. If you have 100 PNG files, which you want to convert into JPEG files, Image2Go 3 won’t prompt you to name a file 100 times. Whether you have 10 files or 100 files, all you have to do is drag and drop them onto a drop box.   Continue reading →
