TOKYO (MacHouse) – So Apple, Inc. is likely to release a new operating system around September 22nd. Well, we haven’t had a chance to test it yet. Anyway, we have one more application to release before Apple, Inc. introduces us Mavericks. Actually, we already submitted it to Mac App Store about an hour ago. This software submission is called TextCandy.

TextCandy is an extensive status menu application that gives you quick access to text strings (e-mail addresses, code snippets and URLs) you frequently use. It’s not an ordinary status menu application as you can create as many as 16 text fields (text groups). You can store any number of text strings under any of them. Switch between text fields with a click of mouse. You can assign an icon to each text field. Because of these icons, exploring TextCandy’s status menu, you can tell which text field you are under at a glance.   Continue reading →

TOKYO (MacHouse) – It’s been a week since we submitted the last software title to Apple‘s Mac App Store. We are obligated to release at least four software titles every month. There’s none so far. What should we do? Actually, we submitted the first software release of the month to Mac App Store 90 minutes ago. This new release is called fotoSeries.

fotoSeries is a Mac desktop application that lets you organize photos with a multi-album viewer. It’s definitely no match to Apple’s iPhoto. Yet, fotoSeries lets you create as many photo albums as you need. It comes with several basic graphic filters such as hue, saturation, brightness, contrast, exposure, gamma, sepia, which you can apply to individual pictures. Save filtered pictures as JPEG, PNG or TIFF images. Use fotoSeries to detect faces on selected photos, which can be saved as PNG images.   Continue reading →

TOKYO (MacHouse) – We were quite sure that TriTexture was the last release of the month. I guess not… A software title that we submitted to Mac App Store nearly an hour ago is called LittleClean2.

LittleClean2 is an updated version of LittleClean, an existing software title that is only available at Mac App Store. It’s a desktop application that lets you execute name changes on multiple files and folders in a folder you select. To tell the truth, we have rarely used it ourselves till recently. We can use an application like LittleClean so that we can rename image files for the Retina display quickly. As you may know, image files that are used for the Retina display must end with ‘@2x.’

There are several major changes. LittleClean Version 2 has been developed from scratch with Objective-C. It’s now a Cocoa application. The most noticeable change is that you can now undo and redo name changes as many times as the stack of changes allows. Notice that the list of original file names is equipped with checkboxes. You can now tell the application on which name you want to execute name changes. The checked names are immune to changes.   Continue reading →

TOKYO (MacHouse) – I thought my career was over when a 2-year-old iMac broke at the beginning of the month. Well, I guess not… Despite some obstacles, I have already submitted four software titles (except the Lite versions) to Mac App Store so far this month. Actually, I submitted my fifth application of the month to Mac App Store some 30 minutes ago. This new release is called TriTexture.

TriTexture is a desktop application that lets you create a beautiful texture pattern with little effort. Select one of 65 base pictures, and TriTexture will instantly generate a pattern. Adjust hue, saturation, brightness, contrast. Create your own texture pattern by setting a focus size and an angle. You can export texture to JPEG, PNG or TIFF on the click of a toolbar button. After configuring minute texture settings, it’s almost impossible for you to come up with the same texture pattern once you quit the application. What you can do is save your settings as a project file. And you can reconstruct the exactly same texture pattern in a matter of a second.   Continue reading →

TOKYO (MacHouse) – The third release of the month is already available at Mac App Store. What are we working on now? Actually, we submitted the fourth software title of the month to Mac App Store about an hour ago. This new software release is called goHorizontal.

goHorizontal is a desktop application that lets you rotate a picture. Just rotate a picture? Hmm, not quite… goHorizontal lets you rotate a picture such that the line between two arbitrary points you set will become horizontal. Imagine that you have a picture represented by a large, rectangular object that is a little bit tilted. Using goHorizontal, you can rotate the entire picture to correct the angles of this rectangular object by setting two points. And goHorizontal will rotate the picture based on the line between those two points such that the line will become horizontal.   Continue reading →
