TOKYO (MacHouse) – This October has turned out to be one of the busiest and most fruitful months of the year for us. So far, we have introduced Discs2Go, WatermarQue Plus Version 2, Audio2QT and OrganizeX Version 2. Today, we have released a new Mac software title. It’s called Rip4Audio .

Inspired by Audio2QT, Rip4Audio offers a simple and easy of letting users rip audio out of multiple movie clips at a time. Rip4Audio supports a wide range of media formats including 3GP, AVI, DV, FLV, MKV, MOV, MPEG, MP4, WMV. Drag and drop one or more move files onto a drop box. Then choose an export format (AAC, AIF, MP3, WAV) and work on few other audio settings. Then? Just click on Export!

Do we need QuickTime 7 to use Rip4Audio under Snow Leopard or not? That’s negative. You don’t need QuickTime 7 or QuickTimeX to rip audio with Rip4Audio. You don’t need Flip4Mac or any of QuickTime components, either.

アップル社のコンピュータを使っていてこの10年で気付くのが、何と言っても純正キーボードの使いにくさです。その究極に達したのが、2000年代前半を通してアップル社からマックと供に出荷されたあのキーボードです。「あのキーボード」といのは、キーを打つ度にギシギシ音をたて、構造上からゴミが中に溜まりやすいものです。（写真1参照）また写真2で見てわかるように、キーボードのデザインが変わる度にキーの位置、特に「Caps lock」と「Option」キーの位置が変わるのもアップル・キーボードの特異性です。

さて、このブログの英語の記事でも何度か取り上げていますが、ギシギシ・ボードにも劣らずマック・ユーザーを最近悩ますのがApple Wireless Keyboardです。（写真3参照）2009年の秋に新しいiMacが登場した際にアップル社から出荷されている無線キーボードです。何が悪いかを簡単におさらいしてみると以下の通りです。

  • テンキー及び他のキー（「Home」、「End」、第２の「Delete」キーなど）がない
  • 無線マウスとの相性か、電池が10日から2週間でなくなることがある

    • とにかく、「この無線キーボードはだめだ」と言って古いマック・キーボードを使おうと思っても、それがギシギシ・ボードだと、どちらを使うか迷う方もいるでしょう。他社製のキーボードを購入すると言っても、マックと使えるものは多くありません。そこで試してみたいのがサンワサプライのMac用キーボード SKB-MAC1です。箱を開けると、「あっ、PC用のキーボードだ」、と思わず考えました。（写真4参照）色が白というよりはベージュで、「num lock」や「caps lock」のライトがあることからでしょうか。  Continue reading →

    What’s Coming Up Next? – MacHouse Introducing Audio2QT

    TOKYO (MacHouse) – We use Mac OS X. The fact is that we are surrounded by devices that only support Windows formats. There are many digital audio devices that only generate audio files in WMA. If it’s just the matter of several WMA files, you probably wouldn’t mind using audio conversion software to convert them into one of QuickTime-readable formats, one file at a time. But what if you have several dozens of them?

    Audio2QT is an easy and affordable solution to batch audio conversion. All you have to do is drag and drop one or more audio clips onto a drop box. Set an audio bit rate and a sample rate. If you accept your default export folder, then just hit the button to transcode them all into QuickTime audio (MOV). It’s so simple.

    Audio2QT supports such audio formats as AAC, AC3, AIF, AU, M4A, MP2, MP3, OGG, WAV, WMA and more. Actually, its drop box accepts any type of file. Importing a file whose audio format is not supported won’t crash the application. By the way, Audio2QT is not quite compatible with Snow Leopard yet. Hopefully, it soon will.

    TOKYO (MacHouse) – WatermarQue Plus is MacHouse‘s No. 4 most selling software title. It’s mostly used by European Mac users. We didn’t update it for 9 months. Today, we have released WatermarQue Plus Version 2. The new version has a new icon, a better built-in video player and a better user interface.

    Mac people use WatermarQue Plus to watermark any number of image files at a time. It’s a unique batch-watermarking application because it allows the user to import video clips and take movie snapshots. WatermarQue Plus allows the user to send those movie snapshots directly to its image list.
