American Express (JPN): Customer List of 1,699 Lost
American Express International Japan annouced Friday on its website that a list containing as many as 1,699 cutomers has been lost. This list shows the names of some of those 1,699 customers as well as their addresses, birth dates and phone numbers. It is also reported by nation-wide newspaper Mainichi Shinbunn (Daily Newspaper) that 61 accounts have been used, and purchases have been illegally made.
German Cyber Criminals Convicted
Sophos, an Internet security software developer, reports that a German court has convicted two men for infecting 100,000 computers with a Trojan horse virus. The virus was designed to make the infected computers dial 0190 numbers to contact a pornographic website, according to Sophos.
Microsoft Office 2004 for Mac Updated
Microsoft announces on its Mac product page, mactopia, that Microsoft Office 2004 for Mac has been updated to 11.3.2. The updater packed in .dmg disc image is available in eight languages, and the file size is 13.7 Mb. According to mactopia, this update contains several improvements only for PowerPoint and Entourage, and not a lot of detail is revealed.
