TOKYO (MacHouse) – Microsoft has released an update patch for both Office 2004 for Mac and Office 2008 for Mac. As far as Microsoft Office 2008 for Mac 12.1.9 Update is concerned, the company says






this update improves security. It includes fixes for vulnerabilities that an attacker can use to overwrite the contents of your computer’s memory with malicious code. In addition, this update readies Office 2008 for Mac for the installation of Microsoft Entourage 2008 for Mac, Web Services Edition, and must be installed before Entourage 2008, Web Services Edition is installed.

Apple Releasing Safari 4.0

TOKYO (MacHouse) – Apple, Inc. previously released a beta version of Safari 4 late February. Today, the company removed the beta status of the web browser and released Safari 4.0, noting







Now, with Safari 4, you can choose your favorite sites from a stunning wall of graphical previews with Top Sites. Flip through websites as easily as you flip through albums in iTunes with Cover Flow. Easily retrieve sites you’ve seen before with Full History Search.

TOKYO (MacHouse) – Apple, Inc. has updated GarageBand, iTunes and QuickTime to 5.0.2, 8.2, 7.6.2, respectively. As for the latest QuickTime update, the company says






QuickTime 7.6.2 includes changes that increase reliability, improve compatibility and enhance security. This release is recommended for all QuickTime 7 users.

Video LAN Updating VLC Media Player to 1.0.0

TOKYO (MacHouse) – Today, Video LAN has updated its cross-platform video player to 1.0.0. The most significant change is to drop support for Mac OS X 10.4. So Mac OS X 10.4 users must stay with the previous version of VLC Media Player, 0.9.9a. In the meantime, according to the change log, the organization says that they have renewed application’s user interface, which we can’t see.
