What is ScreenSequence? ScreenSequence is a simple application that allows users to create 2-frame movies with QuickTime‘s SMPTE Video Effects. QuickTime has more than 100 builtp-in SMPTE effects, and ScreenSequence utiltizes them. All you have to do is to drag and drop two individual graphic images onto the application window, select a video effect, and then set the resolution and frame rate. If you further choose Export under File, you will see the typical QuickTime export window.

A-Cownts – Freeware Title for Mac and Windows – Debuts

MacHouse freeware A-Cownts

A-Cownts is a new and first application that MacHouse has developed. What is it? It’s a small application that allows users to maintain accounts. It is designed to store accounts where usernames, passwords, e-mail addreses and websites are involved.

A-Cownts stores every single piece of information in a single file labeled acownts.acw, which can be easily crack-opened with text-editors including TextEdit. But that doesn’t mean data are human-readable. A-Cownts uses an encryption method with a key that has 2.078218990239605e+63 different combinations, which means it is impossible for anyone to decrypt data in their lifetime and next. Also, A-Cownts lets you set a login password so that nobody else can open and see your account list.

We do a lot of things like making video tutorials mainly for Mac users, making OS X icons, writing software reviews, making game play videos… This time, we are making our own software applications. Right. We’ve kind of had enough for writing software reviews for apps that other people created. If they can do it, we can do it. If a dumb Mac user like Tom Bluewater can do it in 10 days with no prior experience and knowledge of developing software, you can do it, too.

What we are going to introduce soon is our first and new application for both Mac and Windows users. It’s called A-Cownts. What is it? A-Cownts offers you a quick way of saving and maintaining accounts – website accounts, blog accounts, banking accounts, forums accounts.

Mac Software Review: RPG (Random Password Generator) 1.6.1

Mac freeware RPG Random Password Generators
Mac software review

In conjunction with the freeware title called sharedSecrets that we introduced yesterday, another problem in joining multiple websites is to generate random passwords. A few weeks ago, an advertising network company we are affiliated with started delivering porn ads to our system. They’ve eventually screwed up our account. So we’ve been looking for new ones these days. Some of them are too slow in responding. Some of them cannot be trusted. So we’ve ended up creating close to a dozen accounts. If you do it 10 to 12 times, it’s not fun manually generating random usernames and passwords, you know?

So we need help in generating random usernames and passwords as much as we need to comprehensively manage them. A couple of days ago, we ran into a freeware title called Password Builder. It looks nice. It even supports Greek characters to generate strong passwords. But… It will run only under Leopard. Hmm… So what are other choices do OS X 10.4 users have?

And we found another Mac freeware title called RPG (Random Password Generator) by David Kreindler. That’s what this software review is all about. So let’s see how RPG works.  Continue reading
