Some people may find the first game play video of The Lord of the Rings: Conquest that we released a few days ago a little boring. Hopefully, they will find this game play video more exciting. In this level, I played the following classes: Archer, Scout, Warrior and Mage (Gandalf as hero). Scout may not be a very powerful unit. But his Cloak attack is powerful enough to kill Grima Wormtongue in one strike by sneak-approaching and standing right behind him. Another interesting aspect of this level is that you will play an Ent almost at the end. You can smash and kill a few bad guys at a time with just one strike.   Continue reading

Mirror's Edge DICE Mac Boot Camp

Mirror’s Edge is one of the latest games released by Electronic Arts. It was released in January 13th just as The Lord of the Rings: Conquest was. Mirror’s Edge was developed by Digital Illusions Creative Entertainment (DICE), a game developer in Stockholm, Sweden. So what kind of game is Mirror’s Edge? It’s a bit difficult to describe it. It’s a first-person action game where you play the character of Faith Connors. She is a Runner, a person who physically delivers messages. She is good at jumping from one building to another, running away from enemies. So this game is kind of the modern version of Prince of Persia 2008. You spend quite a lot of time figuring out where to go and how to get ‘there.’

I won’t say this is a good or bad game. I can tell you that the graphic quality in depicting city life is pretty good. Nonetheless, the audio quality is bad. Traffic noise is so loud that you can’t hear what Faith, her sister and other people are talking about. Traffic noise can be annoying even while Faith is inside a building.

So what kind of game is The Lord of the Rings: Conquest? Remember a 2003 game called The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King? It’s a great action game published by EA Games. Some people didn’t like it partly because they said the game was used to advertise the movies. The Lord of the Rings: Conquest is a bit similar to The Return of the King in game-play-wise. You won’t play any of the movie characters in this game, though. Some people said that The Return of the King was a tough game. In this game, if you die, you will be respawn and allowed to change characters.

We introduced a total of nine game play videos of Half-Life 2: Episode Two a while ago. For those who haven’t even played Episode One, we are releasing six new game play videos. EA Games released Half-Life 2: Episode One on June 1, 2006. So it’s a 2-and-half-a-year old game. It’s not as good as Episode Two. But Episode One is still a great game to play.

By the way, game play video 5 is open to visitors. All other game play videos are open to members only.   Continue reading

So what kind of game is it? To some extent, some PC gamers might be reminded of hit role-playing/adventure game Fallout 3. In Saints Row 2, players will be asked to choose such human characteristics as gender, race, age and build at the beginning. You will be playing a Saints gang member, who will stand in a murder trial soon. You are now in Stillwater Correctional facility. One inmate named Carlos shows up and offers you help for jail break. He says his brother was in the Saints and told him all about you. After getting out of jail, your immediate task will be to earn respect points by killing bad guys from other gang groups.
