A few weeks ago, Telestream, the developer of Flip4Mac (QuickTime WMV component) has updated its Mac-only applications Episode and Episode Pro to 4.3, respectively. So what do these Mac applications do? Episode is a compression suite. It’s similar to Sorenson Media’s Sorenson Squeeze. Episode contains many compression profiles. French software developer Aquafadas has recently released an updated version of PulpMotion. What is Pulp Motion? It’s a slideshow maker. There are several Mac applications with which you can create QuickTime-based slideshow movies with ease. One is… Yes, QuickTime Pro. Another one is Roxio Toast Titanium 8. PulpMotion is a little bit different from those applications to the extent that you can apply motion effects. So it may remind you of Apple’s iDVD themes. Sonic Solutions, the developer of Roxio Toast Titanium, quietly introduced Roxio Crunch 5 days ago. What is it for? Roxio Crunch is a video exporter. More specifically, it is an MP4 transcoder. Roxio Crunch allows the user to decode video (MOV, AVI, MP4, MPEG, WMV, ISO, Video_TS, DVD) and then re-encode it with a different video compressor (MPEG-4 Part 2 or Part 10) under MP4 format (.m4v). Apple Releasing Pro Application Support

Apple today released Pro Application Support 4.0. This update will not only be used for the users of the latest version of its professional application pack Final Cut Studio 2 but also by the users of older versions of Final Cut Express HD, Final Cut Pro, Motion, Soudtrack, Soundtrack Pro, DVD Studio Pro, Aperture, Logic Express and Logic Pro. Accoring to the company, this “update improves general user interface reliability for Apple’s professional applications.”
