What’s Coming Next? – Split n Join
![]()
TOKYO (MacHouse) – MacHouse has been developing software applications for Mac OS for the past six months or so. And we are releasing a new one possibly within 24 hours.
A new Mac application we are about to release is called Split n Join. Split n Join adds three additional components to SplitMe, another commercial software application we released about 4 weeks ago. While SplitMe allows users to exclusively split movie, zip archives and disc images, Split n Join lets users combine files.
Split n Join comes with three additional components: JoinMovie, JoinAudio and JoinImg. JoinMovie lets you combine (for now) up to 20 movies into a single QuickTime movie, which can be exported with audio and video compressors of your choice. Similarly, JoinAudio lets you combine audio clips into a single QuickTime audio file, which can be exported. (AIFF, ACC, MP3, M4A, OGG, WAVE and other audio formats are supported.) Finally, utilizing the last component, you can join up split DMG parts into a single disc image, restoring the original state before it was split.
Split n Join is a product of MacHouse.
Got Home Sick? Get HomeSync – MacHouse Releases HomeSync and HomeSync Lite
TOKYO (MacHouse) – Today, MacHouse has released HomeSync. It’s a backup application that allows users to save application files before they reinstall OS. Have you ever erased a hard disk drive to reinstall OS and then realized that you forgot to back up some files? Personally, I reinstall OS every 3 months or so. One of the applications for which I forget to back up files before OS reinstallation is iPhoto.
Using HomeSync, you can prepare for OS reinstallation by recording what file to back up for which application. What’s amazing about HomeSync is that it will give you advice as to what to back up, depending on the application. What’s more amazing about HomeSync is that it will let you put those saved files and folders back to where they belong after you reinstall OS. Continue reading
Got MKV? – MacHouse Releases MKVToolPack and MKVTool Pack Lite
TOKYO (MacHouse) – Today, MacHouse has released MKVToolPack (commercial version) and MKVTool Pack Lite (freeware version), which both allow users to work on popular multimedia container Matroska. For Mac users, the Matroska container format is not so useful yet because there is no movie editor that would let them copy, cut and paste frames. With MKVTool Pack, you can rip video, audio, subtitle tracks out of Matroska-contained movies to create new MP4-contained movies with those ripped media tracks. Other things being done right, MKVTool users can edit MP4 movies by cutting or trimming frames and deleting or inserting audio tracks. They can then save changes to convert them into QuickTime movies (.MOV) or export them with different audio and video compressors. Continue reading
