LightNSound is an iOS application that lets you use light and sound effectively through your device.  It gives the user assistance with use of their device while they are on the road or traveling out in the wild.  Imagine a situation where you are injured and want to call somebody’s attention at night when you know they are close but cannot locate you.  Maybe, the best thing you can do is to display a blinking text message with your iOS device.

Another thing that you can do when you are in trouble is to let LightNSound utter a vocal phrase through your iOS device.  So this application is equipped with a text-to-speech function so that you can call somebody’s attention when they cannot see you.   Continue reading

What’s Coming Up Next? – MacHouse Introducing Map-It! for iOS

iOS iPhone iPad software Map-It!

TOKYO (MacHouse) – These days, I rarely develop iOS applications. That’s mostly because I don’t own an iPhone. I have two iPad minis, though. The last iOS application that I developed is OrganizeX Mobile, I believe. Well, I submitted the first iOS application of this year to App Store about an hour ago. This new iOS software release is called Map-It!.

As the name suggests, this application has something to do with MapKit – iOS & Mac OX framework for geographic location map. There is no question that Apple’s Maps is useful. Yet, there is no guarantee that it’s always functional. If you have a WiFi version of iPad, you cannot not use it without WiFi access. So what Map-It! does is to let you save the current map as a picture. And you can view a saved map as a picture with or without WiFi connection or phone signal.   Continue reading

And OrganizeX Mobile lets you import data from the desktop version through iTunes. You can create any number of categories (groups) and accounts. Create a security account so that you can tell the application exactly which action should require a security login. Don’t give a simple 12345 password to each account. Or you can get one account hacked and lose them all during this casual hacking era. Use Dice to create and give a random password to each account.   Continue reading

In this game, your task is to return lost items to rightful owners. There are 36 tenants in this apartment complex. By knocking on the door, you can talk to a tenant. But they won’t give you a clue as to what item they’ve lost until you let them talk. Every tenant has a personal story to tell. Some of them are exchange students from overseas. One or two of them are unemployed. If you let them talk, they will eventually ask a question. Only if you answer their question, they will tell you what they have lost. Many questions are quite specific and tough to answer. You must be versatile at different subjects such as world history, economics, classical music, world geography, cooking, art history.
