Apple Unveiling New iPod Models Along With iTunes 7

Apple Computer, Inc has announced today new models of iPod, iPod Shuffle and iPod Nano. Also announced today is iTunes 7. Apple also sells NFL football highlights, and the video resolution has been increased to 640 x 480 pixels. It has been speculated that Apple will sell Lions Gate and Walt Disney movies at iTunes online store. Apple indeed sells classic Disney movies for $9.99 to $14.99.

  • iPod Shuffle … 1 GB model for $79 (world’s smallest MP3 player)
  • iPod … 30 GB model for $249 and 80 GB for $349
  • iPod Nano … 2 GB model (silver only), 4 GB model (4 colors) and 8 GB model (black only)

    The battery life of iPod Nano has been increased to 24 hours.

  • Apple Introducing A New Line of Mac mini

    Announced also today by Apple Computer, Inc are two models of Mac mini. You can choose 1.66 GHz or 1.83 GHz models. Both models use 667 MHz frontside bus with 512 MB of pre-installed DDR2 SDRAM (PC2-5300). Apple notes that Core Duo 1.83 GHz can be 5 times as fast as 1.42 GHz G4 PowerPC model. Both models come with Intel GMA 950 graphics professor, which uses 64 MB of the main memory. These machines have one FireWire 400 port and four USB 2.0 ports.

    Apple Introducing A New Line of iMacs

    Apple Computer, Inc has introduced a new line of iMacs today ranging from an entry-level machine to a semi-professional one. The entry-level machine (MA710LL) has 1.83 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo inside with a 17-inch monitor and Intel GMA 950 graphics processor (64 MB of RAM shared with the main memory). Another 17-inch model (MA590LL) comes with 2.0 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo with 1 GB of pre-installed DDR2 SDRAM (PC2-5300) memory + ATI Radeon X1600 (128 MB). Continue reading

    Introduction to Audio Editing (Mac Only)

    This video tutorial has two folds. We use WireTap Pro, which is developed by Ambrosia Software, to record the audio part of a movie scene. We also record a piece of music that we’ve found on YouTube. In the first part of this tutorial, we will show you briefly how to set up WireTap Pro. The second part of this video tutorial concerns audio editing. We will edit audio recordings from those two sources, using a shareware title called Amadeus II, which is developed by HairerSoft. We only go over some of the basic functions of Amadeus II by editing our audio clips, and this video tutorial is not the ultimate solution to your audio editing. For example, we only show you that Amadeus II has functions to deal with white noise. But dealing with white noise requires more than knowing how to use a particular application. And we won’t go into too much detail for each function we introduce. Continue reading
