Mac-only online game application GameRanger is updated to 4.6.4. GameRanger’s Univeral application was finally released back in November 28, just several days before MacSoft’s Age of Empires III went on sale. According to GameRanger, this minor update fixes problems that are related to Age of Mythology and Age of Empires III. MacHouse reported before that Age of Mythology players encounter a time-out issue. We are not certain as to whether this update has fixed the time-out problem for Age of Mythology.

Apple Introducing iPhone and Apple TV at MacWorld
MacWorld 2007 has started in San Francisco. And one of the new gadgets Apple has introduced is a long speculated device, iPhone. Steve Jobs has also introduced Apple TV (former iTV), a new network device, which allows the user to connect TV to Macs and PCs wirelessly.
MOAB: Apple’s Finder at Risk
In fact, this isn’t the first time a security concern has been raised around Mac OS X’s own disc image, DMG. This time, the Month of Apple Bugs (MOAB) says that a “DMG image containing a volume name longer than 255 bytes” may accept malacious attacks due to Finder’s memory corruption vulnerability.

Websense: Two Phishing Alerts
Websense Security Labs has released two separate phishing alert reports. One is for MoneyGram, the other alert report is intended for RHB Bank. According to Websense Security Labs, for both cases, users receive an e-mail message requesting them to confirm their credit card or account information.

Microsoft Developing Microsoft Office 2008 for Mac
Microsoft Business Unit has officially acknowledged that they are developing the first Univeral version of Microsoft Office for Mac, which will run on both PowerPC and Intel Mac machines. Microsoft Office 2008 for Mac is scheduled for release in the second half of 2007.
