Adobe Photoshop Very Simple Tutorial: Sand Drawing

Adobe Photoshop

On a winter day, I was emotionally exhausted and felt like getting away from everything. After stopping by a restaurant at the end of a road, I continued to drive till I reached a beach. And I then got out of the car and walked on the beach for a few hours, searching for the answer for my life. I sat and watched the waves that kept coming back. Then I realized something odd. A sand drawing appeared out of nowhere. I looked around, again, but there was nobody else at a winter beach. I shouted “Who the hell is doing this?” And I took a very close look at the sand drawing. It said MacHouse.

The following tutorial shows steps to create a sand drawing on a beach, using Adobe Photoshop CS2. The beach photo used in this tutorial comes from PD Photo. Continue reading

Adobe Photoshop Very Simple Tutorial: Gas in a Drink

Adobe Photoshop

Last night, my wife and I went back to the same restaurant where a man was complaining that his drink glass contained no ice. Actually, the same man was there again. This time, he complained that his drink glass contained no gas. A waitress explained that’s the way it is with wine. But the man wasn’t satisfied with her explanation. And he eventually made her cry. Then my wife whispered “Do you have your MacBook with you?” Oh, no, not again… Well, I went under a table and launched Adobe Photoshop CS2. In a matter of 5 minutes or so, I injected some gas into his drink.

Adobe Photoshop Very Simple Tutorial: A Woman on a Wine Glass

Adobe Photoshop

On a winter day, I was emotionally exhausted and felt like getting away from everything. I spontaneously got into my car and drove for hours. I wanted to go as far as I could. And I saw a restaurant at the end of a road. So I stopped my car. It was very quiet inside. I ordered a glass of wine. I held the wine glass while thinking about my work, my marriage and everything. Then I realized that there was a beautiful woman in bikini reflecting on the surface of the wine glass. I turned around. But there was nobody. That was so strange because I was the only customer in the restaurant. Who was she? The next day, I reached a beach. I hoped to run into the woman I saw on the glass. But there was no déjà vu. To be continued…

The following tutorial shows steps to create a figure reflecting on the surface of a glass, using Adobe Photoshop CS2. The wine glass photo used in this tutorial comes from PD Photo. The bikini woman photo comes from Webshots. Continue reading

Adobe Photoshop Very Simple Tutorial: Chocolate Doughnuts

Adobe Photoshop Adobe Illustrator

Last week, I brought some doughnuts to my office. It was late afternoon, and some guys were very hungry. When one of them shouted “Doughnuts!”, everybody in the office rushed towards me and picked one. And one of them must have got two. That’s when my secretary came back from a restroom. And when she found out that there was no more doughnut left for her, she gave me a look. That look…, which scared the hell out of me. I couldn’t do my work because that look haunted me. So I launched Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop. In a matter of 5 minutes or so, I designed a chocolate doughnut for her.

The following tutorial shows steps to design a chocolate doughnut. Although I mainly used Adobe Photoshop CS2, I used Adobe Illustrator CS2 to create a path and then a 3D image. Continue reading
