The following QuickTime video shows a game play of Major League Baseball 2K9. The game lets you choose any of 30 Major League teams. And I chose Seattle Mariners as my team against New York Yankees.

This is an interesting game with a terrible port. The learning curve is quite high. It took me a while to figure out just how to swing a baseball bat. The game itself is okay, but the thing is that it’s a game ported from the Xbox 360 version. You often see such key control labels as B5, B7, LT, RT, RB. User’s manual doesn’t quite help you use these keys. Offense is not terribly difficult, but defense is difficult. After going through four innings, my team was totally beaten up by the Yankees.   Continue reading

The following QuickTime video shows a game play of SEGA’s Empire: Total War. This game play video will start at the very point where the last one ended. Year is 1607. I’ve arrived at Jamestown, Virginia. The treasury is almost empty. So I will be first ordered to build a couple of farms so that I can finance colonial battles. After completing Chapter 2, I will get the very first real challenging assignment: Conquering Worowocomoco. It’s Native American’s stronghold.   Continue reading

The following QuickTime video shows a game play of SEGA’s Empire: Total War plus cinematic movies. The game play comes from Single Player > Road to Independence > Episode I – The Jamestown Colony. The QuickTime video will end with the mission statement of Chapter 1. I can tell you that this game play video is horribly boring and therefore can assure you that you will regret watching it. Furthermore, the game sound does not constantly catch up with motion pictures during cinematic movies. It annoyingly stutters. But that’s the best video we could make with other things being equal.   Continue reading
