TOKYO (MacHouse) – Microsoft has released Open XML File Format Converter for Microsoft Office 2008. According to the company, Open XML Converter allows the user ‘to convert Open XML files that were created in Office 2008 for Mac or Office 2007 for Windows.’ And you can open and edit converted files with earlier versions of Microsoft Office. Meanwhile, according to Microsoft, Office 2004 11.5.3 Update and Microsoft Office 2008 for Mac 12.1.5 Update will enhance stability and performance. More specially, the company says the update will fix ‘vulnerabilities that an attacker can use to overwrite the contents of your computer’s memory with malicious code.’

According to the company, this “update fixes a vulnerability that an attacker can use to overwrite the contents of your computer’s memory with malicious code.” The update applies to Office 2004 Standard Edition, Office 2004 Student and Teacher Edition, Office 2004 Professional Edition, Word 2004, Excel 2004, PowerPoint 2004, Entourage 2004.

Microsoft has also released a service pack for Office 2008 Mac. The company says that the “update fixes critical issues in Office 2008, including issues that might cause Office 2008 applications to stop responding or quit unexpectedly.” This update applies to Office 2008, Office 2008 Home and Student Edition, Office 2008 Special Media Edition, Word 2008, Excel 2008, PowerPoint 2008, Entourage 2008.
